Lance and Debbie LeTellier

The quality and usefulness of any building systems evaluation depends upon the knowledge and experience of the personel conducting the inspections, researching the problem and signing off on technical documents such as engineering reports.

LETELLIER ENGINEERS joined the Criterium network in 2008. Lance L. LeTellier, P.E., owns and operates the Cedar Rapids, Iowa office with his wife Debbie. Mr. LeTellier is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Iowa and South Dakota with more than 20 years of experience in engineering and management. He holds a Masters Degree in Systems Engineering from Iowa State and an MBA from the Tippie School of Management at the University of Iowa.

The extent and quality of property inspections, reports, and follow-up assistance in the real estate industry vary significantly, as do the expertise and credentials of the inspectors. CRITERIUM-LeTellier ENGINEERS exceeds the minimum state requirements for reporting standards, education and experience and provides specialized consulting regarding sustainable building systems and energy evaluations. On larger projects we draw additional expertise from across our affiliated network and local specialized consultants to build the best team for our clients.

All of our project deliverables are supervised by Professional Engineers. The P.E. license is awarded by each state and is your assurance that the engineer is knowledgeable, ethical, and accountable. Accountability is a true measure of commitment to one's profession and clients. At a minimum, CRITERIUM-LeTellier's Professional Engineers:

  • Have completed an accredited, degreed engineering program, have worked for 4 years under the direction of other engineers, and have passed a comprehensive state board exam. This is your assurance that they are properly trained to evaluate your property.
  • Are bound by a code of ethics that requires that they limit their practice to areas in which they have expertise.
  • Have completed a training course sponsored by CRITERIUM ENGINEERS in Portland, Maine.

In addition to their professional qualifications, CRITERIUM-LeTellier ENGINEERS participate in:

  • Continuing education programs including many provided by the Unites States Green Building Council (USGBC)
  • Intensive training programs sponsored by Criterium Engineers
  • Regular peer reviews

Mr. LeTellier is a member of several national organizations including the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the USGBC – Iowa Chapter.
